ClipPin can send us which screens you use and any errors it hits. We use it to find what breaks and what's confusing, so we can fix it.
The switch is in Settings → Privacy → Share usage and error data. It's on unless you turn it off.
What it sends
- Which screens you open and what you do there, as short codes like
clip_savedorgame_ended. - Errors, as codes, such as a save to Photos that failed.
- Crash and freeze reports from iOS, with the last few codes before the problem.
- Your app version, iPhone or iPad model, iOS version, and settings such as recording quality.
What it never sends
- Names of players, teams or games.
- Notes, scores you typed, or locations.
- Video, photos or clips.
Not linked to you
Events carry a random number made when you install ClipPin, not your account or email. Deleting the app deletes that number. We keep events for 30 days, then delete them.
Turn it off
Go to Settings → Privacy and switch off Share usage and error data. ClipPin deletes any events still waiting to send and the random number, and sends nothing more.
When you email support
Email Support (in Settings) adds your recent codes to the draft so we can see what happened. They're in the message where you can read them, and you can delete them before you send.
Our privacy policy has the full details.
