A Clip Says "Video Not on This Device"

You can see the clip's details but not play it — here's why, and how to get the video.

Your Clips screen lists every clip you've saved on any device. When the video itself isn't here, you see the details but can't play or share it.

Why

The clip was saved on a different device, and its video hasn't uploaded yet. Clips upload over Wi-Fi only, so a clip saved at a field on cellular waits until that device is on Wi-Fi.

What to do

  • Put the device that saved it on Wi-Fi and open ClipPin. The upload goes on its own; the video then plays anywhere.
  • Check the upload switch. On the Clips screen, open the menu and make sure Upload clips to web is on. If it was off, turning it on uploads your back catalogue too.
  • Or just re-save it here. Open the game on this device and save that clip again — it goes straight to this device's Photos.

A different message: "Removed from Photos"

That one means the clip was on this device and has since been deleted from your photo library. Its details stay in ClipPin so you know it existed. Open the game and save the clip again to get the video back.

Why sharing is greyed out

Sharing hands a real file to iOS, so it needs the video on this device. A clip that's only streaming can be watched but not shared — save it here first.
